Due to recent cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.

I am so glad this week is almost over. I feel like last week and this week I have been through the ringer. It's Friday, though, so I should get some rest!

I am taking the dog I adopted to my dad this weekend. I hadn't planned on going home till Christmas Break, but I need to get the dog to my dad soon. He is cute, and I love him, but he is adding to the stress of my week. I have averaged about 5 hours of sleep a night. This morning he got me up at 4:00 am to take him out, and again I got up at 6:15. Lord, help this day go fast!

Last night was Christmas Vespers. It is funny how each year the freshmen are so different, let not. I definitely got to know them better, and many of them are so awesome. I am excited to see what they do. Last night, however, I was the "bad cop" as I sat in the back with them and tried to get them to stay seated and quiet. I felt like a mom, except these kids didn't know me at all and didn't care too much. I got some dirty looks and mocking. Oh well, one day they will be upperclassmen and it will be payback time....you reap what you sow, remember, and you reap MORE than you sow.

This week we had our MT party....thus the picture. We're a good-looking group.. (Debby, is that the correct use of a hyphen or not?) We all chipped in and gave the Kelsy's a digital camera for Christmas, complete with case and larger memory card. We got little Joe a piano that lights up when you play it, and two outfits. Well, one outfit was from the group. The set of camo was from the boys. I love this team!

Everyone have a good weekend!

Which Care Bear are you?

Sarah and Lauren gave me a little Care Bear the other day. Brit was telling me about a quiz you can take and see which Care Bear you are.

After much deliberation and an intense seven-question quiz I found out that I am Funshine Bear. I am filled with unlimited energy and am extremely resourceful. I like to tackle problems and tasks head-on and I gladly afunshineccept any job that comes my way. However, I often take on too much (can I get an AMEN!) and my stubbornness won't allow me to accept help from anybody (I'm working on that). But I am always willing to have a good time.

Well, there you have it. Who knew I was personified in the form of a Care Bear. Ironically, the only Care Bear I owned as a kid was the Funshine Bear. Coincidence, I think not.

Take the Care Bear Quiz, and tell me which one you are---Bedtime Bear, Birthday Bear, Cheer Bear, Friend Bear, Good Luck Bear, Grumpy Bear, Love-a-lot Bear, Tenderheart Bear, or Wish Bear.

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for wishing me a happy birthday yesterday. As I commented below, I had just met a freshmen and he asked me my last name....and then asked if it was my birthday. He’d heard it was from someone. Word got around quickly!

Thanks to Sarah D. and Lauren for the care basket on Friday--it made my day, and thanks to Alex for answering the phones on Friday so I could go adopt my dad a dog. I can’t tell you how much you guys helped my sanity on Friday!

I got some neat presents too—including Season 3 of Alias (thanks roomies!), a couple of yummy meals (with one still to come from TWu), a pampering kit form Debby, a bag of heaven (mint Hershey’s Kisses ) and some sparkle lotion from Rita, a sweet note and some “very merry cranberry” from Tim, and a birthday song and dance from David..... Thanks to Sarah and Emily for calling me. ( I was busy helping with Freshmen last night or I’d called back. I think NEXT week should be calmer and we can talk for reals.)

THANKS EVERYONE! I all appreciate all the cards, hugs, and birthday wishes from everyone.
